I disagree with this article on SO many levels. It really pissed me off. Keep in mind the author has no fat-positive resources on her site other than this- which is a critique. I think it's interesting to discuss, but don't read if you don't feel like being extremely annoyed.

    Well, I do agree with her that it's not really productive to start setting up "hierarchies of oppression" -- you know, the whole "it's more socially acceptable to discriminate against fat people than against African-Americans" thing.

    What is that argument supposed to accomplish, exactly?
    Especially since -- in NYC at least -- I believe most of the neighborhoods with the highest obesity rates are historically African-American, or historically Latino...
